Empties #3
Holy cow this trash has been building up and up! I’ve been putting off an empties post for a while but this is getting far too much! There were a lot of double ups with some products (HELLO HURR BLEARCH) so I will indicate how many I had, I kept a little tally Onto the empties!
I feel like I had wayyyy more products used up than this, so I am guessing I still have some empties floating around in bathroom drawers or my sample box, and I also left some empties out and the lovely boyfriend must have popped them into the bin for me So thoughtful really :).
Schwarzkopf Nordic Blonde Ultimate Lightening System - L1++ RRP $10.79
Ok, to hazard a guess, I would have used about seven of these over the course of going blonde and then maintaining. This is a great, easy to use product, and it did little damage to my hair. I already have purchased my eigth packet of this, ready for my next root touch up. If you are interested in dying your hair, check out my Do Blondes Have More Fun? series. Part 1 - Preparation / Part 2 - Bleaching / Part 3 - Toning & Treatments
John Frieda Color Renew Sheer Blonde Shampoo & Conditioner - RRP $17.99 for Full Size each
One of the ladies from work gave me these purple shampoo samples as she couldn’t use them. I have used John Frieda hair products before, and these were lovely for my hair. I wouldn’t say they were the best purple shampoos I have used, and they weren’t terribly toning (accidental alliteration!) (There I go again!). I wouldn’t repurchase these but they were nice to use and worked well as a simple shampoo and conditioner.
Schwarzkopf Igora Color Gloss in Ice Flower
One of the best toners I’ve used for freshening up hair (not intense toning though). I liked that it was a mousse so I could distribute product evenly through my hair and I could easily see parts mixed. It also doesn’t stain your hands like other (stronger) toners. I would definitely buy this again!
Toni & Guy Leave in Conditioner - RRP $15.99
This was okay as far as a leave in conditioner goes. It wasn’t overly nourishing, and I probably wouldn’t purchase it again. It bad, it just didn’t wow me.
Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque
This is a staple item for Elle Fowler from allthatglitters21 on YouTube, and I have to say, I can see why! It smells divine, leaves hair soft, smooth and nourished. I think it really helped out with preventing my hair from frying during this blonde stage. I am definitely going to purchase this one again!
Eleven Miracle Hair Treatment
This was a sample from a beauty subscription box, and I did enjoy using it. However, because the sample size was so small, I couldn’t really make an informed decision of the quality of the hair treatment. I will probably try this out if I come across it on sale, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to send away for it. I definitely prefer the Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque.
Schwarzkopf Extra Care Ultimate Repair Anti-Damage Mask - Very Damaged, Dry Hair - RRP $8.99
I used up this treatment between bleaches to ensure that I didn’t kill my hair, and I really loved it! It’s a great cheap alternative for a treatment because it works really well. The only thing I will say is that for a small, 20 cent piece of the Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque, you will need to have a small handful of this mask. A lot goes a little way… I think that’s what I mean.. :\
Dove Fresh Deodorant Roll on in Cucumber - RRP $2.99
I never seem to use up deodorants because I get sick of their scent before it can be used up! This one was no different, I currently have another one on the go. But I somehow used it up. I like Dove deodorants, but I wouldn’t get this scent again. I’m weird, I’m sorry!
Pevonia Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser
Again with skin care it can be difficult to know if it is going to work for you with such a small sample. Again this one was from a subscription box. I really liked the scent and how gentle this exfoliator was, so I am interested in trying more Pevonia products!
Libra Hotties Heat Patch - RRP $4.99 for Pack of 2
Another sample! This one was nice to use, it’s a little heated patch that can last up to eight hours and you put it on an area where you need to loosen up your muscles (in this case, your uterus :D) hehe. I had some bad crampage so I decided to use it and it was wonderful! I might actually buy some more of these!
Manicare Glam Eyes False Lashes - RRP $11.99
I have used the Madonna Lashes and Christina Lashes for my Halloween costume (I went as a broken doll!) and I also used the Kelly lashes on a night out (I threw out the packaging because I was in Roma). I really liked these lashes and they have been the easiest to apply!
Revlon ColorStay Blemish Concealer in Light/Medium - RRP $26.95
I swear I cannot get any more concealer out of this! It is completely dried out! I really like this concealer and it’s probably my go-to for 2013. I will definitely buy a new one, but I am using my back up at the moment which is O-K. Not as good as this..but OK. Lol. I will see how long I can last.
L’Oreal Nude Magique BB Powder in Light - RRP $26.95
This amazing powder kicked Rimmel Stay Matte off my favourite list! I love love love this powder! It is so finely milled and light on my face! I just, ugh. Perfection.
St Tropez Bronzing Mousse - RRP $39.99
One of the best self tanners I’ve ever tried! This was a deluxe sized sample from Violet Box (it made my month!). I am heading to a beach holiday weekend for work in a couple of weeks so I will be picking up another bottle of this to ensure I am bronzed for the occasion!
Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes - RRP $7.99
Another old favourite (and probably two packets of empties for this one) is the Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes. I would normally purchase these again, but my local pharmacy ran out of stock! I have purchased a different sort from L’Oreal to use up in the mean time.
Phew! All done! Let me know if you’ve tried any of the above products and your thoughts!
Stay Minty!
